Was there a sound on your last ride that you meant to check? Did a pedal feel different? Before you put your Water Bike away for a break, write down anything that caught your attention.
Those details are easier to describe while you still remember the outing. They also give the person handling maintenance a starting point, especially if several people look after the same equipment.
If your season is ending, use the pause to review its condition. If you operate all year, choose a suitable gap in your schedule. The approach is the same: gather the information you need before deciding what work to arrange.
Start with your last few rides
Think about pedalling, steering and any changes you noticed on the water. Note when the issue appeared and whether it happened once or on several outings. You can record that nothing unusual was noticed, too.
For example, “a clicking sound near the right pedal during the last two rides” gives more context than “check the pedals”. You do not need to diagnose the cause.
Add where the Water Bike was used, whether it was in fresh or salt water, and the date of its last service. For a hotel or activity business, include observations from the team members who used it.
Look over the accessible areas
With the Water Bike out of use and positioned as its manual directs, photograph its overall condition and any detail you want checked. Include the visible areas of the frame, pedals, pontoons and drive system.
Look for visible damage, a missing fixing or a change from your previous photographs. Keep the observation specific. A mark on a pontoon, for instance, needs to be assessed in context before deciding what to do about it.
Follow your model’s instructions for any functional checks. If you suspect an issue with steering, propulsion or a pontoon holding air, keep the bike out of use until you have appropriate technical advice. A visual check alone cannot confirm that it is ready to ride.
Review your cleaning routine
Follow the cleaning instructions for your model, paying attention to care after saltwater use. Allow the equipment to dry before packing it away. For a product you already use, keep the exact name and its instructions with the maintenance record.
If Euromeci Shampoo Eco is part of your cleaning routine, confirm that it is suitable for the surface being cleaned and follow the current label. Avoid extending a product’s use to other components without checking first.
Keep one short record per Water Bike
You can use a note on your phone or a shared file. Include:
- The model and an identifying reference.
- The date of the last service and work already completed.
- What you noticed, with dated photographs.
- Questions or parts still awaiting assessment.
- Your location and intended return to use.
For a fleet, give each bike its own record. That way, the photograph of a damaged pedal stays with the right unit when another team member follows up.
At AS WATER, we can discuss your maintenance needs using these details. Include your preferred dates when you get in touch so we can check availability and the next step for your equipment.
