From Castanheira de Pera to the World: The Birth of AS WATER
It all started in Castanheira de Pera, where António Santos, the founder of AS WATER, found the calm, crystal-clear waters to be the perfect environment to explore his passion for sports. With initial training in hospitality and then in industrial production, Antonio was shaped by a life of dedication to sport and innovation.
From the age of 9, he began exploring the world of sports with rollerblading, skateboarding and then snowboarding, having dedicated almost 20 years to the latter. In 2010, he discovered the fascination of water sports with his first wakeboarding lesson, which would mark the beginning of a new adventure.
It was in 2014 that António discovered Schiller’s waterbikes, whose efficiency and performance sparked the idea of bringing this innovative concept to Portugal. The dream of sharing this experience with other water lovers became AS WATER, a brand that not only sells and rents water bikes, but also innovates with its own parts and accessories, designed to offer the best performance.

The Man Behind the Brand: António Santos and His Passion for Sport
A Life Shaped by Sport and Innovation
António Santos grew up in Castanheira de Pera, a city surrounded by nature and water, which from an early age inspired him to explore sports and adventure. His passion for activities such as skateboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding became a constant in his life, shaping the creative and entrepreneurial vision that defines AS WATER today.
With years of experience in extreme and water sports, Antônio realized that the market needed a more balanced offering between fun and performance. It was this need that led him to create AS WATER, a brand where innovation, balance and adventure converge to provide unique moments to its customers.
